My name is Tim Silver and was raised in California but have spent many years in Japan. When I first came to Japan, I lived in the Kyoto and taught English. After several years in Kyoto, I decided to return to the United States and attend graduate school. I obtained a Master of Pacific International Affairs from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (currently School of Global Policy and Strategy) at the University of California, San Diego. When I graduated, I returned to Japan and started to work as a translator. I have worked as a translator (Japanese to English) for more than 20 years, handling projects primarily in the fields of economics and finance. I am a member of the Japan Association of Translators.
